Commercial Centers
Santiago has been transformed into a city with many shopping centers.
The first mall of Chile, was installed in 1982. 10 years later in 1992 Santiago already had four of these malls: Parque Arauco, Alto Las Condes, Costenera Center in eastern Santiago, Plaza Vespucio in the south and Arauco Maipú en el poniente. Currently there are about 27 malls spread around Santiago, without mentioning other throughout the country.
Among the most popular shopping centers are:
Parque Arauco, located at Av. Presidente Kennedy 5413, commune of Las Condes. It has a variety of shops and areas, such as restaurants, cafes, cinema, ice skating, art room, bowling, theatre, and a boulevard with more than 50 restaurants and live music.
Alto Las Condes, located at Av. Presidente Kennedy 9001, commune of Las Condes. This mall receives over 20 million visits per year. Currently the Alto Las Condes has more than 200 stores, as well as a cinema, food court, supermarket, family entertainment centers and a medical center. It has a variety of prestigious brands.
Apumanque, located in Manquehue Sur 31, commune of Las Condes. The Metro station Manquehue is just steps from the intersection with Apoquindo away. Since 2010 it is connected to the Metro station Manquehue and is characterized by its alternative shops.
Costanera Center,located at Av. Andres Bello 2525, commune of Providencia. Next to the Metro Tobalaba, this mall is the most modern and largest one of Santiago, with a variety of shops, cinema, food court, etc.
