Neighbourhood El Golf
The sector El Golf of Santiago de Chile, is located in the commune (location) of Las Condes. Its main streets are: Isidora Goyenechea, Apoquindo, El Bosque, Presidente Riesco y Vitacura.
It was designed in 1937 by Edgard Llewellyn- Jones, who considered to build El Golf as one of the most exclusives neighbourhoods in Chile characterized by large structures of famous Chilean and foreign architects.
In the mid 1990, large family houses were leaving their spaces to modern apartment buildings and major companies in Chile. Nowadays, El Golf is characterized by its offices, restaurants, beauty salons, medical consultants and the most luxurious hotels in Santiago, such as the W, Holiday Inn, Intercontinental, The Ritz Carlton and Atton.
Among its tourist attractions are the Feria de antigüedades de Isidora Goyenechea, the Golf Club Los Leones, la Iglesia Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles, the Plaza Perú and the Teatro Municipal de Las Condes.
As for transportation, the sector El Golf is crossed by the Metro line 1 (Roja) as well as it owns severall lines of the public transportation lines from Transantiago, especially through the Av. Apoquindo.
