Where to Eat
Santiago de Chile offers a great variety in its gastronomy, which is distinguished in the different areas.
The capital of Chile satisfies the tastes of all, because you can visit many different places, with different types of national and international styles and prices for all budgets.
Santiago Center has a varied culinary offer, from fast food restaurants till dishes from around the world, such as Peru, Arabic, Japanese, Brazilian, Italien, Mexican and others. The gastronomy in Santiago is known for its good quality seafood, including restaurants, which are located in the Central Market (San Pablo 967), next to the Metro Station Cal y Canto.
If you prefer more exclusive areas, in the eastern sector of Santiago you will find a great variety of options to choose from, such as: The Borde Río, Alonso de Córdoba, Av. Nueva Costanera, Avenida Vitacura and Isidora Goyenechea.
There are also alternative options with a more bohemian style, as in the Av. Constitución en Providencia and José Victorino Lastarria, where restaurants and café are directly in the street and inviting you to test their offers.
There are also places called “picadas” which are characterized by their low prices and typical food. This is an excellent opportunity to be in contact with the normal everyday life of many Chileans. One of those places is called, Vega Chica, which is between the Metro station Patronato and Cal y Canto.
